Stage 4 Wine and Cheese- September 28, 2010

Finished
Lots of fun with this today!! I added the chairs, the be apron that is hanging in the window (polka dots to be painted shortly), a man walking his dog in the far window reflection as well as a man walking near the bay. I took artisitc license with some of the bottles and played them up a bit to go with the quirkiness of the store. I thought it was a bit more fun than the dusty old bottles they had displayed. Thus is the fun of creation!!

Stage 3 Wine and Cheese

In this stage I've tweaked the signage and have begun adding the wine bottles and layout of the display counter.

Latest Photorealism Project

For my next piece I am painting a photorealist oil painting of the Venice Gourmet wine and cheese shop overlooking the bay in Sausalito, California. I've just drawn out the pencil sketch on canvas.

Here is the original photo:

Commissioned Portraiture

3' x 5' oil on canvas "Maverick"

The various stages of production...
This was a challenge because I had an incomplete, grainy emailed photo from which to work. Notice the photo on top of the easel.

Maverick is a very regal dog, so I wanted to use more of a Rennaisance style background.
